First Official Photos: “[REC] 3: Génesis”

The shooting of “[REC] 3: Génesis” began last 4 April and today we received in our desk room the first pictures from some scenes from the film by photographer Quim Vives.

The last chapter from the popular terror saga is under the vision of Paco Plaza, who collaborated with Jaume Balagueró in the two previous films. 

Produced by Julio Fernández for Filmax, the films stars Leticia Dolera (“Spanish Movie”, “Semen - Una Historia de Amor”, “Guante Blanco”), Diego Martín (“Tres Metros sobre el Cielo”, “Aquí no hay Quien Viva”).  Balagueró works as a creative producer this time and Elisa Sardinas as associate producer.

Luis Berdejo, the film’s scriptwriter, and Plaza are responsible of bringing back the essence of the first movie, which terrorized the audience and delighted critics. 

The shooting will last seven weeks and includes different locations in Barcelona.

Fury UK to play exclusive “Help for Heroes” acoustic session for the Saxon Forum

Metal trio Fury UK will play a unique unplugged gig to raise money for the “Help For Heroes” charity this Saturday at the Walkabout Bar.

As a precursor to the final concert of their British tour dates with Saxon & Wolfsbane, the Manchester rockers will also offer a meet & greet/singing session and the event will include a charity auction with items from the three bands plus a rock karaoke session from the Forum’s own Metal Ed.

Show time starts at 2pm and is free to get in.

Deep Purple announce symphonic UK tour

Rock legends Deep Purple have today reported that they will be hitting the roads with a 38 piece orchestra for the first time this November.

With a new album planned for 2012, Ian Gillian and co. will offer concerts in Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester and London, respectively, and as part of the “The Songs That Built Rock” tour to perform their all time hits, Smoke on the Water, Highway Star, Space Truckin’, Hush or My Woman From Tokyo, and to present  the tracks for their upcoming record.

The band, which has sold over 100 million albums worldwide since it was formed in Hertford  back in 1968, visited Russia in March for their eight time where they made early inroads as a touring act and performed at the personal request of the country’s president Dmitry Medvedev.

Spider-Man travels to the future with “SM: Edge of Time”

Activision and Marvel Entertainment have recently announced the development of “Spider-Man: Edge of Time”, the latest adventure of the arachnid superhero who faces one of his greatest challenges ever by taking a trip to the future to prevent the early and untimely death of Peter Parker.

The videogame, which has been developed at the Beenox studios, challenges the player to take on the roles of both classic Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099 to correct a time stream gone awry and prevent a catastrophic future.

Dee Brown, Beenox studio head, said the previous videogame “Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions” gained the recognition of both critics and fans and now it is the time to provide a fresh approach: “We are constantly listening to the fans and looking for new and creative ways to innovate the game play experience for them.

“We want to create a totally distinct experience in “Spider-Man: Edge of Time” by working with Peter David on the story and creating this urgent, high-stakes experience where time is working against you and the fate of Spider-Man hangs in the balance.”

The game features “cause-and-effect" game play, where players will see how the immediate and sometimes unexpected effects of their actions as one Spider-Man changes the timeline of the other one.  

“Spider-Man: Edge of Time” is slated for release this fall.

3 Doors Down return to the UK to present their upcoming album

Mississippi quintet 3 Doors Down recently announced they will be landing on UK fields to play four shows this summer.

Brad Arnold and his troop will offer concerts in Manchester, Glasgow, London and Birmingham as part of their latest tour to celebrate the release of their fifth studio album, “Time of my life” (Universal Republic), which will be hitting stores on July 19.

Recorded in Los Angeles with Grammy-nominated producer Howard Benson (Flyleaf, Three Days Grace), the 12 track collection will deliver more of the anthemic radio tracks we've come to expect from the combo. 

The first single When You Were Young debuted at #1 on the iTunes Rock singles chart and is currently climbing the Active Rock, Mainstream Rock, and Alternative charts. The video was directed in Nashville by Ryan Smith (Eminem, Duran Duran), and is available for purchase on iTunes.
