Paul W. S. Anderson’s epic adventure “The Three Musketeers” has been selected as the official opening film for the 24th Tokyo International Film Festival on October 22, the organisation announced Thursday.

The movie, which is based on the classic novel by Alexandre Dumas, is a powerful action adventure shot in 3D and stars Logan Lerman, Milla Jovovich, Orlando Bloom and Christoph Waltz.

Summit Entertainment will release the motion picture in the U.S. a day before, while Gaga corporation will release it in Japan on October 28.

The eight-day festival will be held until Sunday 30 at Roppongi Hills and other venues in Tokyo.
